Rumpang. Rimpang. Rampung.
Featuring the incredible work of 13 contemporary Indonesian artists, this exciting exhibition draws inspiration from Arahmaiani’s understanding of art as “a liberating force that should encourage a new awareness of humanity and a new social consciousness” (Manifesto of a Sceptic, 2009).
Believing that art plays a crucial role in sparking important conversations about social and environmental issues, "Rumpang. Rimpang. Rampung: Towards Shifting Perspectives" showcases diverse experiences and voices. The artists address topics of mental health, the environment, disability, and gender, exploring from their own perspectives what it means to be Indonesian, 79 years after independence and 26 years after Reformasi.
This vibrant multimedia exhibition promises interactive experiences for all. Explore our inclusive disability trail, engage with fun kids’ labels, and dive into our enriching activity book. We invite everyone to enjoy and immerse themselves in this celebration of art and awareness!
