Joko Kisworo
Joko Kisworo (b. 1972) is a visual artist who pours his emotions into abstract works on paper. “Catharsis” refers to the process of emotional release, a means of freely expressing the depths of his soul. On display is just a fraction of the entire work, inviting us to let go of the burden of our hearts and the emotions it holds, including happiness, doubt, amazement, fear, anger, sadness, and confusion.
Putting these emotions on paper helps the artist connect with his inner self and talk with his thoughts and feelings until he reaches a state of calm and well-being. Joko shows through his work that art can be a therapeutic tool, helping to cleanse the soul and mind.
